Helsingin kahvipaahtimo (Helsinki Coffee Roastery) is a small roastery located in Teurastamo, the heart of Helsinki’s meat packing district. It is here that we roast the best and freshest coffee of the season. The heart and soul behind the roastery, Benjamin Andberg, is a pioneer in the field of speciality coffees in Finland. He burned his first poor beans about 20 years ago in a frying pan and has continued working on his roasting skills. According to Benjamin, he comes from the “learning by burning” school. Over time, the frying pan was replaced with a roasting machine and in 2014 we were awarded best roaster of the year by Glorian Ruoka & Viini magazine.
The coffee industry is currently undergoing a big shift. At Helsingin kahvipaahtimo we are building a new coffee culture with our thorough experience and expertise. We want to transfer our expertise to the customer in an easy way. We offer an ethical Finnish option with excellent taste. The coffee we use in all our products derives from single origin farms and we strive to always buy our beans directly from the farmer and skip all the middle hands. The quality of our coffee is very important to us and is something we pay a lot of attention to. We are proud of our coffee and you will notice that when you have it in your cup.
